The Royal British Mint is now taking pre-orders for three new silver coins in its popular 2016 Beatrix Potter series. The previous issue featured an illustration of Peter Rabbit on its reverse and sold out its 15,000-piece inventory in a week. The new coins carry images of the Potter characters Jemima Puddle-Duck, Mrs. Tiggy Winkle, and Squirrel Nutkin, and have each been given a “Limited Edition Presentation” limit of 15,000 units. The actual mintage limits for the coins have been set at 16,000 pieces each.

Each coin is composed of eight grams of 92.5% sterling silver, measures 27.30 mm in diameter, and costs £55.00. Emma Noble designed the reverses based on Potter’s original illustrations.

Beatrix Potter first published the children’s classic, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, in 1902. Each of the three coins now on sale has an order limit of three per household. For more information on the Beatrix Potter silver coin series, please visit the Web site of the Royal Mint.
