Peanuts’ 65th Anniversary Colored Silver Coin


The Pobjoy Mint has released the 2015 65th Anniversary of Peanuts Colored Sterling Silver Coin, which costs $69.95, has a mintage limited to 10,000 pieces, and is composed of an ounce of silver that is 92.5% pure. An Uncirculated cupro-nickel version of the coin is also available, with an unlimited mintage and a $24.95 price tag.


Charles Schulz debuted his iconic comic strip on October 2, 1950. The reverse design features a color image of Snoopy on his doghouse, with Woodstock resting on Snoopy’s feet. The field and rim of the coin are silver, with 65th ANNIVERSARY OF PEANUTS and the coin’s $10 denomination inscribed around the center of the design.


The obverse design features Ian Rank-Broadley’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, with the country of issue, BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS, QUEEN ELIZABETH II, and 2015 inscribed along the rim.
