Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s classic novella, The Little Prince, serves as inspiration for a 2015 series of coins issued by the Monnaie de Paris. The coins share an obverse design that bears a sketch of the Little Prince beside the denomination and “2015,” the year of production. Circling the outer edge, the words “The Little Prince” are translated into four languages.
The 5 euro 1/25 ounce gold Proof coin (pictured above) costs €125, while the 10 euro “Draw Me a Mutton” silver Proof coin (below) retails for €60. Both coins have a mintage limit of 5,000.
