2014 Canada Goose $20 for $20 Silver Coin

The Royal Canadian Mint has recently started accepting orders for the latest coin in the Exchange $20 for $20 silver coin series. These coins represent an opportunity for collectors to purchase 99.99% pure silver coins for their face value of $20.

2014 Canada Goose Silver Coin

The latest design features an elegant depiction of the Canada Goose in flight. There are no background design elements making it appear as though the goose is soaring through clear skies. The included inscriptions read “20 Dollars”, “Fine Silver Argent Pur 9999”, “2014”, and “Canada”. The reverse design is by Trevor Tennant.

The obverse of the coin features the Susanna Blunt effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Surrounding inscriptions read “Elizabeth II” and “D G Regina”.

Each coin is struck in 99.99% pure silver with a weight of 7.96 grams. This represents silver content of 0.256 troy ounces. The coins have a diameter of 27 mm and a serrated edge. The mintage is indicated at 225,000 pieces. There is an ordering limit of 3 coins per household.

The Royal Canadian Mint offers the coins for individual sale or as a subscription option for all four of the upcoming 2014 $20 for $20 silver coins.

All of the RCM’s previous $20 for $20 silver coin offerings have sold out.

New Releases from the Perth Mint

The Perth Mint will begin sales for many new product releases on Monday, January 6,  2014 at 11:01 AM ET. Not only will this be the first product launch date of the year, but it also follows a longer than typical gap, as there was not a product group launch date in December.

The releases include the next issues in the Australian Megafauna and Ships That Never Sailed series, two 2014 Year of the Horse 10-Coin Collections, and a Mythical Creatures coin featuring the Dragon. Full coverage will be provided following the start of sales.

Subscriptions are Canada only, not even Masters Club foreigners can subscribe. I am tired of this Canada-centric crap and don’t plan to buy much from the RCM this year. I also think the new O’Canada series (also for Canadians only for subs) is a weak re-tread of last year’s better series. And I think the latest trick of repacking the same coins already issued in a new package sometimes with gold rims or whatever and pretending like it has a lower mintage is truly pathetic.

AgAuNEWS, they really look great in the antique finish. Let me know what number you get and if the #2 has 4 digits on the edge. The #1 only had 3. I assume NZ Mint is making them since they are closest.
Also I am having a hard time finding the second in the Gods of Ancient Greece series? Any help? Happy New Year.

@Louis, RCM is not getting one dime from me this year. They are ruining the oldest hobby on Earth IMHO. I even stayed away from my Great Lakes I wanted because of it.

This 2014 $20 Canadian Silver coin look like 1967 Canadian silver dollar which was centennial commemorative silver dollar?

I try not to be as negative as I was above, but I at a loss as to how a Mint that has in recent years issued some of the best world coins ever seems to have lost its way. Let’s see what the coming months bring and hopefully I will turn out to be wrong.
