  1. ultra-crepidarian says

I am not collecting the series and I generally don’t purchase colorized coins but the Phoenix coin is very artistic and a well-executed design. The only down side is that it looks nothing like a real Phoenix. … (That’s a joke.)

  2. im just a bill says

Yeah the phoenix looks ok, but Im not a colorized coin collector.
The H/R kangaroo is something I will purchase though. I am relieved to see the price at $75. I have the whole series so far as well as the first Koala, Dragon and Kook. The prices for the boxing kangaroos and the dragon are still holding up well since the drop in Ag.

Decided to search around for my first ever UHR coin. Since I am a bird lover I decided on the 2012 P AUSTRALIA $1 HIGH RELIEF KOOKABURRA NGC PF70 EARLY RELEASES w/OGP. Will be a special edition to the collection and look great next to my NIUE Birds of Prey set. Can’t wait to see it. What I read was “This is the very first high relief piedfort Kookaburra EVER in the 23 year history of this series of the most-collected of all Australian coins! It is also the FIRST of a new, annual series of High Relief Silver Kookaburras and will be in heavy demand for years to come as the series progresses!” Cannot wait to get it.
